Research

The Green Design research programs aim to reduce environmental damage by:

  • Lowering environmental and toxic discharges
  • Minimizing the use of non-renewable resources
  • Reducing the use of renewable resources to sustainable levels

Our interdisciplinary research programs will encourage safe economic growth by developing pollution preventing green design tools for industry, government, and the public. Our research is centered on four strategic thrusts:

  1. Sustainable Infrastructure
  2. Energy and Environment
  3. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
  4. Environmental Management

Given the interdisciplinary and interdependencies between the environment, economics, and policy, it is often difficult to classify our research into a single category. You may find work in one area that could be classified in another.
